Diwali Bhaidooj Gifts for Brother and Sister

Diwali season is the most fun time of the year in India. Five days of celebration (or more if you like card parties). The planning, decoration, shopping, parties et al have their own charm and are always fun to do, but by the time the season is ending the exhaustion sets in.

Diwali Bhaidooj Gifts for Brother and Sister

Bhai dooj is celebrated on the last day of Diwali. By the time, its Bhai Dooj, every year I tend to be completely E-X-H-A-U-S-T-E-D and I have always heard even my friends and family also express how tired they are.

This year I decided to be smart and plan my gifts in advance for Bhai Dooj to conserve some energy for the celebration.  I decided to buy gifts for my two brothers while I was doing my Diwali shopping this year.

Since we moved into a new house this year, and have decided to make wiser purchases I decided to browse for offers, that would be valuable as gifts and at the same time save time and money. I looked for Bhai Dooj gifts in the marker and then did a search online. After careful comparison I realized there were some really nice offers and deals online on a gifting website.

I chose to finish buying the essential items first. I bought 2 boxes online, of Ghasitaram kaju roll and katli, which came along with a silver plated coin. Since I can’t preserve mithai for a long time, I chose to get the products delivered fresh one day prior to Bhai Dooj, as the website offered a feature of choosing the delivery date.

The next thing to do was, find appropriate gifts from my brothers. Since both my brothers are married, I decided to buy something for their homes.  My older brother is very artistic; he loves paintings, theatre and everything cultural. I chose a blacksmith tree wall clock, which I found at a 50% discount. My younger brother is a very homely person, and a simpleton at heart, he was never fussy about anything except his towel. He would be fuming when anyone used his towel. This little memory inspired me to buy him a towel set. I found a nice reversible Bombay dyeing towel online and I knew it was a bhai dooj gift that my brother would appreciate.

Seeing my wonderful and pocket friendly gifts, my husband is extremely proud of me. He praised me for having a wonderful taste and being wise as well, I was so delighted by his compliments that I didn’t realize he was setting up a trap. He got me to agree to find a gift for his sister. Now I have to find a gift for my sister in law on my husband’s behalf, and truth be told I don’t mind it all! But I am not going to tell my husband that, and get him to buy me a bag that I liked for finding his sister a gift! Tis it is a wonderful world!
