Prince charming and the girl next door

Arjun, he is smart, tall, funny, intelligent and absolutely lovely. He is my Boyfriend. It seems so strange to call him my boyfriend. Oh my God, I am actually blushing. It is too good to be true.

Arjun and I started seeing each other a short while ago, actually it has been 11 weeks since we have been in a relationship. Before that we were dating each other for 7-8 months. We went to the same college, had a few common friends but we never really interacted much. Like a typical movie story we ended up interning at the same place after college, that’s how this love story began. If you would have asked me back then, I would have never imagined Riya Kumar dating Arjun Singh. But it happened and I am so glad!

We are as different as different gets!  Now ever since we started seeing each other this is our first Diwali that we will be celebrating together. There is a small Diwali party at Arjun’s friend Disha’s farmhouse. Since I haven’t known Arjun’s friends for a long, and having always been crowd shy, I get a little nervous at such gatherings. It is really nice of all of his friends to be so warm towards me, since we are going to Disha’s place I bought her small gift as a token of my appreciation and also as it is Diwali.

The real problem is finding Arjun a gift. Not just any gift a gift that he likes. The guy has everything and to top it he is extremely updated about EVERYTHING! He has a great dressing sense and style. There is nothing I could come up with except books, which I would probably know more about, but he isn’t into reading as much. Grrrr!!! I’m vivid! I feel like a mad scientist trying to figure the mysteries of the universe.

I decided to give him a gift of LOVE. I wanted to something for him, something that would show I love him with all my heart. I started looking for options, I even asked my sister, but that was a futile attempt. Then I decided I should make something for him, something he can’t buy.  I found a wonderful Italian ingredients hamper on a gifting website. I decided to order it along with an Italian recipe book. I have decided to make Diwali lunch for Arjun, as he absolutely loves Italian food. I have ordered a bunch of flowers to put in the flower vase, chosen the crockery and even ordered a Truf, which say’s “I love you” to end the afternoon with something sweet. I hope Arjun likes his gift, as that would make Diwali absolutely special for me
