“God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made
Mothers!”
-
Rudyard Kipling
“My
mom my hero”, we all have heard this statement, but in my case I believe my mom
is a super hero. She really is always everywhere. I have not been able to hide
one thing from her to date, she always figures it out or she just gets to know
from someone. I don’t know how she does it, but she is successful every time. I
had two theories, either she is a in closet super hero or an FBI agent. My
friends would always mock my theories and get all philosophical and say no “she
is a mother, she will always know”.
As
I am an only child, all the attention was always directed towards me. What will
cookie eat, when does she have to go out- does she have appropriate clothes,
did she go for her yoga class today, these was constant questions my mother had
on her mind along with a million others that changed from time to time. It all
seemed very exhausting to me, I cramped away from this excess attention, and
this limelight would annoy me.
Today,
I live in another city. I moved to Mumbai two years ago for my work. Every
morning my mother calls me to wish me morning and to check if I have eaten my
breakfast, today that attention seems so precious to me, it makes my day to
hear my moms voice early in the morning. She truly is my superhero.
My
mother is a very traditional person, well grounded in simplicity. She takes lots of pains to always decorate
the house, make sweets on special occasions, and go to the market to buy
flowers, pooja accessories and gifts for everyone.
This
year I plan to make a surprise visit to my parents place for Diwali and spend
the five days with them. For weeks I have wondered what should I gift my
mother. I have asked friends, relatives, and even researched online and only
then did I make the decision.
I decided my mom needed a
break from her busy life in Pune. I bought her a wanderlust experience gift box
online, which means my parents can finally take that trip to Pondicherry that
they have been planning to go on for a while. My mother loves to read, so I purchased a
Landmark gift certificate for her along with Silver Plated Thali WithKajoo Laddoo Gift Box By Aapno Rajasthan.
Its going to be five days of my mother
showering me with attention and pampering me all throughout, and I do not mind
it at all now. She truly brings love and light to our entire family. I love you
Mom!
